Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We studied the vowels and practiced them with music. Then, with bodily-kinesthetic activities, we learned the numbers from one to five. Then we drew to identify -myself, -my best friend, and -my oldest brother, using subject pronouns and the verb to be "ser". We ended the lesson reading two story books from the library that were written in English and Spanish."
"The student and I covered negative and affirmative expressions as well as sino and pero. His attitude was positive. He must study the chart of affirmative and negative expressions. Strategies include writing all of his own notes or understandings of a topic then filling in gaps with a textbook or class notes. He seems to get this topic well and be confident with it."
"This session we practiced some vocabulary tricks and started to draft up some flashcards with visual and linguistic cues to help with memorization. We also reviewed the days of the week and the differences between "estar" and "ser". At the end of the session, we went over her English assignment. It would be great if the student can collect graded papers or assignments in Spanish class so we can go over what the challenges she's experienced and figure out how we can work around them. Looking forward to next Monday!"
