"The student and I worked on new material from class. I showed him procedures for the 45-45-90 and the 30-60-90 triangles. We worked on solving homework problems with unknown values."
"Today the student had practice problems on inverse trig functions. She understood the new material and was able to find correct answers. Her homework was multi-step problems applying the previous material to "real life" situations. We practiced identifying the topic of the question for the remaining problems."
"I worked with student one on two-step equations with fractions. He seems to understand it. I will continue working on the same material and will also practice with him on the steps. Student two and I reviewed inequalities with multiplication and division. I will continue helping him practice. At his mother's request, we will begin moving on to negative exponents, as well."
"The student has a chapter test coming up, so we started by studying for that. We then started studying for her upcoming final. We started with the processes of simplifying and rationalizing radicals. We worked through the different types of problems and were able to get through the entire chapter."
"The student is just starting to review for her math final. Today she went through the first several pages of her review packet while I checked her work and answered questions. Topics we looked at today included exponents: adding, subtracting, multiplying, and how they relate to the radical symbol; properties of logs/ln and how to solve for an unknown using those properties; solving a system of equations using substitution and solving a system of equations using elimination."
"The student has a test coming up in the next few days. Therefore, we took today's session to mainly focus on what his exam will cover. His lesson consisted of graphing x and y coordinates and then finding missing coordinates based on the slope of the line. He also was responsible for figuring out what the independent variables were from a given set of data. Regarding these topics, he seems to have a clear understanding of the material. He was able to properly identify almost every correct answer regarding the various questions. The area he had trouble with was related to figuring out where a line extends to after he has plotted all the points. This is where most of our lesson focused on. I took the liberty to teach him some more advanced topics that were related to the lesson at hand. The goal was to prepare him for the following level's curriculum while simultaneously helping him better understand the current material. I'm happy to say that he was able to properly understand all the material that was administered and was also able to recreate each scenario."
