Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today we went over Lewis Structures and trends in the Periodic Tables. We are making sure to meet before her next test which will be on Tuesday. I plan to be more than available to help her to study for finals."
"The student is learning about the properties of waves, essentially the relationship between frequency and wavelength, and how energy relates to these. We also moved ahead to talk about electronic configuration and she did a few problems on the topic."
"Today was my first session with the student. She told me that her chemistry final is December 9th. After introductions, we started working on some fundamental concepts within the material that she is currently going over in class. We went over redox reactions: finding oxidation states of elements in compounds, differentiating oxidizing/reducing agents, and ended our session with balancing redox reactions. I stressed the importance of having confidence in the foundations in order to be successful with the next sections, which essentially build off of what we learned today. She was determined to gain a strong understanding, and we worked through quite a few problems today until she felt good about them. We plan to meet again next week Monday, where I hope to review and reinforce what we went over today then move on to the next sections in her chemistry book."
