Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"This session - Problems based on PEMDAS, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division word problems."
"We worked on solving equations and inequalities. We also worked on putting word problems into equations/inequalities. The student did excellently."
"Today we were able to cover many lessons. We reviewed their homework on lesson 42, then covered 43, 44, 45, 46, & 47. They seem comfortable and confident with the topics."
"Today we reviewed topics for the student's upcoming test. We discussed 1-to-1 functions along with the horizontal and vertical line tests. We also reviewed inverse functions and how to find them. We then worked through some online practice problems."
"The student had homework from the section they'd covered that day in class on solving equations that contained radicals. She started it in class and seemed to be doing well, so after a quick look at the couple of questions she'd done, we continued with the rest of the problems. Since the problems were basically an amalgam of skills she had learned and was comfortable with, the material did not give her much trouble. She then requested we look forward to the next section, which covered the Pythagorean theorem. She was already somewhat familiar with it, so after a brief discussion of the formula and right triangles, we jumped into trying a few problems. After she did several of these problems with no real trouble, we moved on to a couple of word problems. For the most part, she did very well, having no problem interpreting the given diagrams."
"We continued to work on sequences. We worked on problems involving finding the first five terms, finding the missing term and writing arithmetic rule for the sequence. The student exhibited good mastery of these concepts."
