Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"In class, the student was reviewing solving equations. So we continued our review of solving multi-step inequalities and using the distributive property. Then, we spent most of the session doing word problems: how to define the variables and how to set up and solve the equations and inequalities. She now has a very good grasp of all the concepts, and she is starting to get a grasp of how to tackle the word problems."
"Reviewed percentage and scaling concepts, and helped the student prepare for a chapter test he is having on Tuesday."
"The student and I continued working through the quiz that we started on last time, which reviews the material that will be on her midterm. I also wrote some practice problems for her using the same math concepts but different numbers. We worked through some of those problems to make sure she understood how to answer the problem, not just how to plug in numbers."
"The student began this session by completing a worksheet he had started in class about the long division of polynomials. Fortunately, we had previewed this topic in our previous session, so he was well prepared to work through these problems. He finished the questions on his own, and I checked his work for accuracy and completeness. Afterwards, we reviewing two older sections in preparation for a quiz on simplifying, multiplying, and dividing rational expressions he was to take the next day. The student had a strong understanding of all of these concepts."
"The student can solve the math problems given but needs work on memorizing multiplication/division tables which would help in solving quadratic equations or finding the roots thereof."
"We reviewed the student's homework using the distance formula and the midpoint formula. He needs to work on being neat so that he reduces his algebra errors."
