Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student has begun working on the trigonometry section of algebra 2. We reviewed a little bit of the unit circle and then evaluated sine and cosine at various angles. He's pretty good with the basic unit circle angles so I just checked his work and explained how to invert the sine and cosine functions. We also did a little bit of ACT math work. I explained how to use combinations and permutations to answer counting problems."
"The student and I prepared for her chapter 11 test. She is now back on track and has no make up work. She did a great job with some newer, tougher concepts. I think the biggest thing will be to just double check her work and make sure to watch for positives, negatives, etc. as the equations are complicated and it is easy to miss some things."
"The student has an exam tomorrow covering 1 & 2D force problems, energy, power, and work. Specifically, we discussed some example problems from his textbook and went through a couple relevant exercises from the end of the chapter."
"We covered the following concepts: angle-sum theorem for triangles; parallel lines, transversals and angles or angle pairs formed by them; and, midsegments, medians in triangles, ratios of medians in triangles. We did the review problems of chapter 2 for her upcoming unit test."
"We went over an exam that the student took. She did alright on it, however, we worked through it to correct any errors and go over concepts. They consisted mostly of geometry. We also worked on reading comprehension questions for the book The Giver."
"We worked on three sections of trigonometry. The student definitely has a much better grasp of this subject than previous math subjects. What she needs to do now is memorize her special triangle trigonometry."
