Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I completed three homework assignments that were due in class the following day. Two of the assignments contained review type questions, covering all of the topics that she and I have covered over the course of the school year. The other assignment covered solving problems dealing with various geometric figures for surface area and volume. The student did great!"
"Today we went over a geometry review packet that the student was given for her upcoming midterm exam. Drawing and solving algebraic problems seems to come pretty easily for her. She said she was unsure about finding patterns in number sequences. After we went over different ways of looking at the patterns she seemed to grasp it really well."
"The student and I had a good session. We redid some problems that she had done incorrectly. She took a test on systems of equations. We then moved on to Geometry. We did some problems the tested your understanding of similar and congruent figures. We then solved some problems involving similar and congruent figures."
"The student and I continued working on her project, this time dealing with conditional probability, area under a curve and continuous probability. We used tree diagrams to find conditional probabilities, graphing calculator functions to find areas under curves, and our knowledge of functions to find probabilities of certain function properties."
"We completed a review math worksheet on a variety of concepts including: fractions, finding perimeter, multi step word problems, multiplication and division. He did fairly well overall but still often struggles to understand what to do with complex word problems. I drew visuals and it helped it a lot."
"The student is currently taking calculus III. I worked with him today on vector operators, including the dot product, cross product, and projection, as well as applications to area and answer checking. We reviewed some problems. He has a good understanding of the material so far."
