Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I continued to practice with his city related vocabulary words. We spent the majority of the class working on his homework assignments which focused on vocabulary and the differences between the indicative and subjunctive. We had an excellent class and it is evident that his speaking ability is improving rapidly."
"We watched the video about the world of work and jobs in Quito, Ecuador. We learned about different professions, what are they like and tried to answer the questions about the video in exercises. We also reviewed the form of the future tense. We watched another video about the group of young people and their plans for the future."
"We spent most of the session preparing for the student's upcoming test which is going to cover the preterite and imperfect tenses of verbs. I gave him lots of practice during the session, however, I felt he was still a bit confused. So, I e-mailed more practice to his mom so that he and I could go over it before his test."
"The student's class continues to work on formal commands. He does not have any difficulties with this structure so he practiced responding to a variety of situations. In this activity he had to understand the scenario and apply an appropriate command. He showed me a recent vocabulary quiz he scored 90. He told me his teacher had announced that they would be having a chapter test soon but he did not specify the date. I reviewed a past test and we practiced similar exercises but with formal commands."
"The student and I revised and drafted a script for his oral presentation assignment for Spanish. He is getting a good grasp on use of preterit and imperfect tenses."
"We briefly reviewed grammatical concepts that the student needs to prepare for her test. We practiced purpose clauses in more depth and began to review relative clauses."
