"Worked lesson problems on trigonometric ratios and vectors in advance of the student's partial chapter quiz on Tuesday. He has been studying sin, cosine, and tangent concepts and problems, and scored a 100 on his last quiz!"
"The student has a test coming up, so we went over some of her old notes. Then we looked at some of the new material that will be on her test too. We talked about the law of sines and the law of cosines and went over a few problems showing how the laws are used."
"We mainly discussed the Pythagorean theorem, although we finished the material (hopefully) on similar triangles. The relationships of certain very common triangles - 45-45-90 and 30-60-90 need to be memorized for the SAT exam, but I also showed the student how to derive them. We spent a bit of time talking about chemistry, including the solubility product."
"We finished his 7-1 homework, and reviewed most of section 7-2, 7-3, and a little of 7-4. He seemed to have no problems with these subjects. I did not have any concerns, besides the fact that he needs just more practice on identifying the ratios. We agreed to meet next Sunday."
" The student and I covered solving for variables and learning how to create equations through a word problem. She got 3 out of 5 questions that I gave her correct. She seems to struggle more with order of operations and the rules of simplifying and solving for variables. I left the student with 7 questions as practice for next time. My only concern is I hope that the student will understand the concepts of simplifying and solving for variables because it will be crucial when her class moves on to more difficult ideas and topics."
"During out session, the student and I reviewed her first test from her online Geometry class. We discussed the questions she had been marked down on, and reviewed the concepts that would lead her to receiving a better score. Once the student felt comfortable with those concepts, we discussed Geometric proofs and reviewed several of the proofs in her workbook."
