Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today's session with the student went very well. We continued working on her review worksheets for next year. We covered trigonometry and the product and quotient rule. She has a large packet of practice problems to work on so I didn't give her any additional ones."
"Today the student and I went reviewed a lot of Calculus concepts, which included related rates, the fundamental theorem of Calculus, and Euler's Method. We were able to work right out of the text book she will use next year, and we followed the order they will presumably follow in class. In our next session we will continue to review."
"We discussed the details of her paper further and how to incorporate graphs and charts into it. We reviewed concepts such as relative growth rate and first derivative tests. We finished by going over example problems involving the quotient rule and interpreting a graph."
"Today we took time to review the differentiation concepts we had dealt with before our hiatus. We reviewed exponential, logarithmic, trigonometric, and power derivatives, and practiced the chain rule."
"We spent a lot of time on the review exam to get ready for the exam on Monday. We talked briefly about chapters 7 through 10. We mostly focused the time on the exam and on integration by substitution and by parts."
"We continued working on extrema, but took it a few steps further today. Not only did we find max and min values, but also inflection points and intervals that were increasing/decreasing and concave up/down. For the majority of the session, we worked through homework problems. At the end we went through and made a kind of 'cheat sheet' that outlined how to approach the problems. It can get confusing when deciding what to plug in where, so this sheet should be a good reference for the student while she continues to work through problems."
