Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"I checked over the student's ACT practice test. He finished all sections except for the reading and the essay. His scores were 15 for English, 20 for math, and 13 for science. He wants to get at least a 20 or 21 composite score. We checked over a portion of the English section. We will meet again on Friday to review the test further."
"Reviewed angle of depression/elevation problems (as well as the 45:45:90 and 30:60:90 ratios) in preparation for completing the student's Chapter 9 test. We also began looking at the Chapter 10 (circles and lines) material, specifically properties of a circle (radius, diameter, chord, arc) as well as tangents (internal and external)."
"I met with the student to review the concepts for circles. He had completed most the packets. The second packet was much more challenging and covered proofs."
"The student had several worksheet to complete for her class. We started with the law of cosines and law of sines. Then we moved on to using the trig functions and Pythagorean theorem to solve triangles and find areas. She demonstrated how she is good at simplifying radicals. She also had some word problems and was able to set them up and solve them. She is always fun to work with because she is so enthusiastic about getting her work done and strives to thoroughly understand the concepts."
"I met with the student for 1 hour 30 minutes. Since he did not have any new material in Geometry. We worked on the Algebra I material. He learned how to solve system of two equations with two variables by substitution and elimination by adding or subtracting equations. He solved about 15 different problems."
"Today we worked on a review covering circles, arcs, chords, radii, secant and tangent. The student had a positive attitude today. Study and watch the YouTube videos over the lessons before the test comes next week."
