Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I went over her last exam for errors and tried to pinpoint why she didn't do well on it. She did not have a problem with content but her issue arose from her ability to take the exam. She spent too much time on questions where she second guessed herself out of the right answer. We talked about ways to overcome this type of test anxiety and how to prepare for her final so that she does not make these types of mistakes on it. She is an extremely intelligent girl and I believe she has the potential to make an A on every exam in Chemistry, we will keep focusing on her ability to stay calm on exams and trust herself."
"We covered the gas laws in this session, specifically Boyle's Law, Charles' Law, and Avogadro's Law. We reviewed the concepts and I made sure the student understood what the different laws explained. We then moved on to the homework problems and applied the laws to word based problems. Overall, he understands the material but needs more practice applying them."
"We went over the student's class material involving solutions. We first went over a worksheet involving stoichiometry of solutions and molarity, then we went over a worksheet involving acids and bases. We also reviewed solubility, saturation, and freezing point depression. Overall, the student seemed to understand the material very well."
