Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I reviewed over complicated fractions, especially with subtraction and addition. She did a very good job with this concept and we will now move on to multiplication and division of fractions."
"We did a chapter review of chap. 14. This chapter was on 3-D vector space. We did about five to seven problems from each section. The student seemed to understand vectors clearly and didn't get stuck on any of the practice problems. I gave him some test advice, on going over his work at the end of the test, and to show all of his work so that he can get partial credit on problems. I left him to do the chapter review in the books as practice for the test."
"Today we did inequalities and graphing on a number line. The student knew the concepts and was confident in her answers. I gave her more problems to practice, and after a little guidance she had no problem attacking them and getting the correct answers."
"In preparation for the student's test, we covered the review packet provided by her teacher. The concepts were on graphing and simplifying rational functions. She did very well on this. We finished up with a practice multiple choice test, for which she got 85% of the questions correct."
"In today's session, we completed two more sections for unit 5 in the student's government class. We should be able to finish this unit and start the next one in our session tomorrow."
"We went over the second half of the student's 3D vectors review sheet. The most effort was spent introducing strategies for approaching math proofs. He enjoys the material a lot and loves to make new connections. He has a test later this week on the material we reviewed in the last two sessions."
