Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today the student and I mainly focused on preparation for her Algebra 2 exam. We reviewed such topics as graphing systems of equations, creating a common denominator, and adding/subtracting systems of equations. She seemed to be doing fairly well with the material. When finished with her Algebra 2 study guide we briefly worked on her Chemistry study guide. We covered problems on the ideal gas laws and states of matter."
"In this session we went over the study guide the student's teacher gave to her for her upcoming test. She knew most of which that it was on and what she didn't know we went over again to refresh her memory. After which she did very well. She has improved greatly in her calculations of percentages."
"We covered absolute value inequalities first. Then we moved to factoring quadratic equations and spent a lot of time on that. Finally, we used factoring quadratics to solve some radical equations, and also solved radical equations that didn't require factoring."
"The student worked on her homework. We talked a lot about systems of inequalities and also worked through one of her long class problems on linear programming. We spent time on graphing lines and graphing these with inequalities and shading appropriately. She asked questions about how these concepts applied to more complicated problems."
"Concepts: exponential growth and decay functions, natural logarithms, and function composition. The student reviewed and completed multiple practice problems in preparation for his in-class test."
"We covered properties of matrices - multiplication, addition, as well as how to find an inverse matrix. The student seems to be a visual learner and was having a hard time finding the pattern for matrix multiplication, but after a few problems, he seemed to be getting the hang of it."
