Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We covered solving a variety of inequalities. The student did a good job with solving the inequalities. She understood that the inequality flips if you divide by a negative coefficient. She also knew how to graph the inequality on a number line. She shaded the circle when the integer was part of the solution. She did not shade the circle if the integer was not part of the solution. She had a positive attitude towards the material covered in class. It was a productive session."
"Last week we went over mainly chemistry and the topics of stoichiometry and limiting reagents. This session, we learned how to form equations and use dimensional analysis to understand both the numerical and qualitative importance of the values we calculated. Overall I think that the session went well."
"This session was based on some difficult statistical concepts. Apart from the various types of samples and studies, we also looked at scrambling. Once we wrote the processes in mathematical formulas, the student understood. We did several practice problems involving both calculating reported values for controlled experiments and scrambling."
"I am extremely confident with the student's progress. He knows and understands the math and formulas. We reviewed three dimensional shapes and simplifying square roots. He performed excellently. I advised him to memorize the formulas of the 3D shapes for his test. I also showed him how to figure out the formulas in case he forgot. He is a great student and wonderful kid. He is very smart and understands the topic. I have been working with him to make sure he double checks his work and remembers his formulas. As long as he does that he should excel in his next exam."
"The student just started percents this past week in class. She wasn't sure how to solve the problems initially. We did it by converting the percent into a decimal and multiplying. She did great using the decimal method and finished the problems fairly quickly. My only concern is this might not be the way the teacher is teaching it, and I don't want to confuse her. Next week we'll review her notes from class this week and make sure she understands both methods. She earned a 92 on her last math test!"
"We had a good session today. We went over all the integrals on the student's review sheet for her test. They consisted of integration by parts, trigonometric substitution, trigonometric integrals, and partial fraction decomposition. We also went over ways to approach the problems on the test."
