Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student had a test tomorrow, so we reviewed the concepts that will appear on his test. This did include one subject that we hadn't covered yet, but it was closely related to everything else: similar shapes. He seemed to be pretty confident in his ability to do well on his test, and I don't see why he shouldn't."
"During today's session, we went over some of the student's previous homework. He's earned 10/10 on all the recent homework assignments, but we went over the concepts again just to ensure that they are solidified. He currently has a high B in chemistry. The most recent homework deals with the molecular structure of molecules, which is also what they did in lab this past week. He is understanding it well and isn't struggling with the current material. We also went over the second page of his geometry packet. He's able to prove congruent triangles quickly and accurately. He did struggle with some of the proofs, but they are going over both proofs in class. The proofs on that worksheet are something we will come back to in another session to make sure he understands how to do them. He currently has A's and B's in all his classes and is understanding all the material well!"
"The student completed his homework and everything was correct. Today, we did upwards of 50 practice problems, and he only missed 5. He has homework for Friday. The test is in a little over a week, and he's showing progress."
"Worked on calculating missing values such as angles and lengths of sides in right triangles use the Trigonometric functions of sin, cos, tan, acos, asin, and atan. The student demonstrated the ability to solve the problems. Shared a tip with the student on how to use mnemonics to help remember and recall the Trigonometric function and the correct equation."
"We reviewed for the student's midterm. Specifically, we looked at parallel lines, perpendicular bisectors, and equations of lines. She initially struggled with parallel lines a little, so we did a little review online in addition to her study guide. She was very upbeat and excited about her success with the review problems. We had a chance to review problems from chapter 5 test as well. She is doing much better with her visualization skills."
"We reviewed a quiz question the student had gotten back and completed a study guide for a test she had the following day. All problems dealt with triangle transformations, dilations, and proving similar triangles/using their properties to find different measurements."
