"
My philosophy as a tutor is that students know more than they think they do. I like to guide my students through solving problems by using their prior knowledge and experience, and asking questions so that they can participate as much as I do. My favorite thing about tutoring is getting to know my students on an individual basis, and figuring out how they learn best.
In my free time, I love being with my family and friends, reading good books, dancing, and exploring the city of Chicago-my new home!."

" I led laboratories as well as a discussion period to go over homework questions.
Being a lifelong student of math and science, I think I have a strong understanding of students' frustrations with the subjects having experienced many of them myself at one point or another. I can provide a fresh perspective to students and help them view problems in different ways that teachers may not have the time to do. ."

" I incorporate inferential thinking and logic into all of my tutoring sessions in order to give my students practice with skills that they will need throughout their lives.
I also have an arsenal of test-taking tips and tricks that students can use to excel on standardized tests. Test-taking is generally not an inborn talent; it is a skill that must be learned. Working with a tutor is a great way to learn how!."

"
I am a very logical and rational person, and I believe that is reflected in how I teach my students. I do my best to have students understand concepts rather than just memorizing them. Although learning process may be more difficult, problems will become much easier in the long run.
I try not to force students into doing something but rather, encourage them."

"In the more immediate future, I hope to achieve a master’s degree in international relations. My studies have provided me the knowledge and skills to be a useful tutor not only in political science and international studies, but also history, English, writing, American politics and government, research, and literature. In addition, for the last nine years or so, I have studied Spanish. Since freshman year of high school, I have studied Spanish each year, building on the foundation I built in the previous year. In the fall of 2010, I was fortunate enough to study in Bilbao, Spain, where I lived with a host family and took all of my courses ...

"My teaching experience ranges from mentoring children ages 3-5 years old in developing their language and literacy skills, to tutoring college students who are tackling tough chemistry topics, and all ages in between. Not every student learns the same way, so I introduce material in different ways until it becomes relatable to the student. Enthusiasm and encouragement are important in order to keep students engaged and interested, and these are the tools I use to teach subjects that are often seen as difficult and frustrating to understand.." ...
