"Today we continued going over the passe compose and went into the rules of agreement for verbs that use etre. We drilled on both avoir and etre verbs, such as jouer, manger, chanter, aller, arriver, and sortir. We repeated the exercises in which we translate from French to English and vice versa. He continues to have a positive attitude, and he's fun to work with. He wants to get the correct answer, and 99% of the time, he gets there on his own if he reconsiders his response. We're also continuing to work on pronunciation, especially as it concerns masculine and feminine, and spelling words using the French pronunciation of letters. For extra practice, I recommend that he drill one "avoir" verb and one "etre" verb in passe compose until he has them memorized absolutely perfectly so that when he comes up against a new verb, he can compare it against the one he knows and use it to find the correct answer."
"The covered concepts included review of passe compose and famous expressions with avoir, bout, and coup. Also, we engaged in conversation where I had the student tell me in French about her week, what she did with her friends, and also I had her describe a photo in an interview. We reviewed and went over new vocabulary as well. She is an excellent student with a lot of motivation and a great accent. She reads and speaks well in French."
"We practiced more for the state exams. The student is doing very well with answering multiple choice questions. Listening and conversation are still more of a struggle, but he is able to understand most of what he hears in the listening exercises and we had some entertaining conversations together."
