Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We are currently ahead of the class curriculum and will start SOL reviews for the rest of the school year in addition to the usual review. We reviewed plotting points on a graph, creating an x/y table based on information from a graph. We are also calculating the rate of change."
"This was my first session with the student, and we worked on Algebra II because she has a test coming up this Friday. She seems to understand the material, and there are only a few things she needed clarification on. I think she will do really well on her exam, and we will go from there next week!"
"The student and I finished our work on prime factorization. He learned the process quickly. We moved on to writing algebraic expressions using phrases and word problems. He particularly liked this section since he has a problem solving mind. He enjoys problem solving and interpreting mathematical information , so he learned this fairly quickly. We finished our session, working on more fraction review."
"Yesterday we went over adding and subtracting fractions that do not have common denominators. The student did very well with this lesson and I can tell the math is becoming a bit easier for her since we started tutoring!"
"The student needs help when counting to ten, and to identify two-digit numbers as groups of tens and ones. We went through addition problems for 7, 8, and 9, and then used manipulatives to create two-digit numbers. We will continue to work on this."
"The student and I continued to review for the exam. So far, he is doing well and he seems ready to overcome the exam. We went through math and reading and he did well in both. I look forward to working with him next week as we end our session on a high note!"
