Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We had a successful first session. We discussed what she has learned in the class so far. There were some evaluating problems that we went over together. She would give me some examples from the book and I explained what they were asking for. Then we solved it together and I gave her another problem to do to make sure she understood it. It seemed like she learned best from visuals, which helped her do the problems. She wasn't afraid to ask questions when she didn't understand something, too. I suggested some properties and equations to memorize, which would help her solve some problems. Overall, a good session and I can tell that she is definitely trying."
"Today the student and I worked through a review sheet for his upcoming exam. Topics covered included cofunction identities, values of trig functions at reference angles, converting between decimal degrees and degree-minute-second format, and solving for various unknowns in right triangles."
"We worked on the theory of vectors, including basic addition of vectors using the parallelogram rule and finding the sum vector in situations involving airplanes and wind or boats and current."
"The student completed an assignment over graphing and solving systems of inequalities. He had a good grasp of the material. We previewed upcoming units on matrices and linear programming."
"We covered the unit circle and some basic trig applications. The student was able to figure out the unit circle with slight prompting."
"We prepared for the student's upcoming test. The general theme was composite functions. She was completely comfortable with addition or multiplication of functions. We also discussed inverse functions."
