"For this session, we went over adding and subtracting rational equations. Student did not have her notes from school with her, so I gave her examples to work with from an algebra two book I own. She struggled a bit at first, but as we went through more problems, she became more comfortable with the material. When I gave her the hardest problem I could find, she was initially concerned, but then was able to solve it with very little assistance."
"Went over fractions, decimals, and percents in more detail today, covering an extensive independent practice module and one full quiz (student did well, 10/10 on it). Drilled on concepts of manipulating percents to re-write as fractions or decimals, and how to approach solve word problems involving percents. Went over several multiplication tables and many long division problems to cement skills. Reviewed concepts of multiplying or dividing by ten or multiples of ten. Assigned the following for the student to complete before meeting next week: 1) complete rest of independent practice and second full quiz on "fractions, decimals and percents" (under rational operations module); 2) watch and complete lesson on "primes and composites" (under number theory module); 3) go back and finish rest of independent practice and quiz modules."
"Went over his new chapter which included finding the volume of cylinders and cones. He did very well. We also went over how he thought he did on his test from last week. Overall he thinks he did well. Still some room for improvement, but today he was able to fully understand the concepts that were just recently introduced to him."
"The student and I reviewed for his math final. We focused on changing equations from standard to slope-intercept form."
"The student is doing well, but he doesn't know the vocabulary connecting 'timesing' and multiplying. We went over that, and I will quiz him next week."
"Tonight was the first time I met with the student. We reviewed problems on different growth formulas. We reviewed logistic, restricted, and exponential growth formulas."
