"This lesson, we reviewed concepts with the boys that we had covered starting last week and before. Practicing outside of the lessons is truly showing how much progress they are making, and both show an aptitude to learning vocabulary and phrases. My hope is that now equipped with common, everyday vocabulary, we may start using short Spanish phrases in lieu of English during lessons. I am very happy thus far with everyone's progress."
"In this session we finished reading on the Aztecs and answered a few questions on the reading. We went over the already learned vocabulary, the new vocabulary, and the themes in the reading. After that, we worked on the difference between "ser" and "estar". We worked on a few exercises. Initially, the student had difficulty with this topic, but after we reviewed the concepts and did some practice exercises, he was able to understand. His homework is to study the new vocabulary we learned both on Thursday and Saturday. We will do more practice exercises on "ser" and "estar" in our next session."
"Today we looked at regulars and irregulars as well as preterit and imperfect. We discussed what an auxiliary verb is, when to use it, the difference between haber and tener, and how to form the irregular participles of verbs with regular and irregular verbs. We also looked at preterite and imperfect, how both are used to discuss events in the past, just in different ways. Overall, he had a great attitude and persisted through difficult questions. He has definitely grown in applying information in new contexts. He is making great strides."
