Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We started a broad overview of topics we've covered before: fractions, measurements, equations and graphing points, and a few others. The student has recently seemed to struggle a little recalling and implementing topics that were previously covered, so we will use the next few sessions for reviewing these concepts before moving on."
"Worked on vacation packet which included math problems solving for percentages. The student did show improvement in setting up the correct equations to calculate for percentage(s)."
"The student and I worked on a few things tonight. We started by going over the section that she will have next in her class, which was more work on the improper and infinite integral. This incorporated integration by substitution, as well, so the student was able to get more practice with this crucial component of calculus. Next, we review integration by parts, and I showed her how to implement one of my favorite calculus shortcuts: the tic-tac-toe method. Finally, we covered L'Hopital's Rule."
"We did some more last minute studying, still focusing on completing the square. We also discussed the take home portion of his chemistry test."
"Today the student and I worked on AP calc test prep, limits, derivatives, and tangent line equations."
"Today I worked with the student on the review assignment she got from school. We discussed the review, and later we worked on the mock test I had sent her to prepare for the upcoming test on Friday. We covered factoring the quadratic equations, completing the square, and the word problems associated with it, and complex numbers."
