Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student is nearly finished writing her thesis. Today, we reviewed the data chapters and went over proper presentation of data in a written format. I will finish editing the content and will send her the corrections by tomorrow."
"The student and I went over free response questions that will be on his AP Statistics Exam. These free response questions covered the concepts of t-tests and probability. No strategies or study skills were included in this session. I gave him a few practice problems concerning the said statistical areas and he seems to understand how to do them."
"We spent our session today working on a single huge word problem. She had to come up with a cost and revenue function for selling a product, then combine the two to find profit. The questions combined several types of problems that we have been going over for the last few weeks. Some of the older concepts were fuzzy, but overall she did very well. She is almost done with this section, so next session I anticipate that we will start on a new topic."
"The student went through her Geometry lesson, and took notes on the most important information. I had her work out sample problems as she went through."
"The student's questions were about solving word problems with percentages and solving multi-step single variable equations using inverse operations. She showed me her work, we discussed how to properly represent the concepts mathematically and I think she became much more comfortable. The content knowledge again seems strong, but the confusion about how to set up the problems was keeping her from doing her best work. She finished up the session doing her work the right way and got the right answers, so I am confident she is ready for Wednesday's test."
"The student had a review packet of exponential and radical expressions, and we also covered exponential and radical equations for the first time together. She is doing well at simplifying expressions!"
