Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The students and I met for a session of SAT tutoring. Since they are both are so advanced, we continued to work on test prep. One thing we went over is when to, and when not to change one's answers. Overall both are scoring extremely well on the practice, usually missing only two or three questions on each practice section. Both of them are aiming for perfection, and they are both smart enough to achieve it."
"We studied the comparatives and superlatives in Spanish. Additionally, we analyzed some reading fragments and practiced writing."
"In my second session with the student, we started by working on reading. We completed two passages together, and talked through her answers. I had her locate in the passage where she found each of her answers, which I think was helpful. The second passage we worked on was quite difficult, but I think it was a great learning experience. Hopefully, if she is confronted with that difficult of a passage on the exam, she'll feel more capable now of tackling it. In the second part of the session, she and I worked on Trig. We talked about special right triangles, converting from degrees to radians, and trig identities. She needed to go through the way that special right triangles worked -- once we covered that material, she had a good sense of how to use it in trig problems she might encounter. We had a great start Friday."
