Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student has a quantum test tomorrow so we reviewed alpha and beta decay, energy states, and some conceptual concepts relating to bonds and subatomic particles. He seemed much more confident by the end of the session!"
"It was a continued focus on the student's physics final prep. We continued from last week's session and went over the first half of all material that will be covered. This includes work, kinetic & potential energy, conservation of energy and conservation of momentum. He didn't have any specific questions from our previous session, but we focused on more challenging and complex examples from his material."
"The student and I worked on state exam questions and were able to pinpoint the questions she was slower and less sure on so that we could work on more of those later. We will continue building her test taking skills to build up her confidence."
"Since last time, the student has learned about Galileo, Kepler, and Newton in class. We spent most of the lesson talking about Kepler's laws and Newton's Laws. The student wants to make sure that he has all of the laws memorized and that he doesn't mix them up. We also went back and reviewed the material we covered last week. He will have a test soon, but he doesn't know the date yet."
"I helped the student review a state mandated lab for the state exams. It covered paper chromatography and gel electrophoresis. We were able to do a few more state exam review questions covering cellular respiration as well. We are also reviewing reactants and products."
"The student has an exam this Monday, so we went over some old quizzes. Her exam covers alkenes, alkynes, and radicals, with naming and reactions and synthesis of compounds, so we went through all of those. During the last half hour, we covered strategies to help her study, what materials she needs to look over, and what she needs to really practice. I talked to her about study methods. I also told her she could contact me if she had any questions. I'm really hoping that she can improve her grade with this one. She did well on her quizzes, so hopefully that is reflective of her understanding of the material for this section."
