Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We worked on physical sciences for the MCAT. Some physics, inorganic chemistry and optics. We continued to work on the temporal aspects of the test with emphasis on question/answer analysis. She is showing good progress on her studies and I think if anything, she still has problems with the time pressure of the MCAT."
"Today we covered physical science questions, mostly involving waves and electromagnetism. For each question, we discussed important concepts and approaches to problems. We also discussed qualitative methods of approaching equations. She took two practice tests this week and saw a very large increase between the two. I encouraged her to take another full length practice test before we meet again on Tuesday."
"Today was our second session. I answered a few questions she had when reviewing the previous practice exam. We then went over some chemistry and physics--acid and bases, colligative properties, and mechanics."
"The student and I covered verbal reasoning. We also did some physics flashcards at the end. I have left them with physics practice questions to tackle on their own."
"We reviewed the Physical Sciences section of the assessment test, and also worked on strategies on how to approach the biological sciences section by setting up passages from the prep materials together."
"With the student, we went over and completed passages that concerned topics such as organic chemistry (acid/base separations), enzyme kinetics, enzyme function and structure, glycolysis, and the electron transport chain. We will need to study and go over each of these topics in-depth and complete more passages, as I did not feel that he has established a firm grasp of these topics yet."
