"We started working on AP Test Prep. Her teacher assigned a few problems to do and the student managed to get through about 4 of them in the time period that we had. Her class is just focusing on AP Test prep now, so we can start working towards a great test score!"
"The student and I spent most of the session working through a review packet from her teacher. She's fairly solid on the more recent topics (area, volume). While not all the material she is learning in class will continue to be important down the road, some topics (like writing expressions and equations) will keep coming up over and over again; those topics need to be practiced regularly. I recommended she spend some of her practice time on those topics."
"We went over simple math equations involving solving for x and other variables. The student seemed to have a better understanding of the topic after a bit of practice, and by the end, he was able to do most of the problems by himself."
"During this session, we reviewed for the student's quiz that is on Monday. We reviewed how to graph quadratic equations and then we practiced solving quadratic equations with graphing. We reviewed how to find the axis of symmetry from quadratic equations. She did very well with the graphing; however, she seemed to struggle with how to solve them with the graph. She has a few more days to review in class before her quiz, so I feel she will know the material and be prepared for her quiz on Monday."
"We studied for a test the student has coming up, which covers adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing polynomials. She is really breezing through this material and is feeling far more confident than she was earlier in the semester."
"Today, the student and I prepare for his geography test. He needs help collecting and distilling information but is good at understanding it."
