Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today, the student and I started another speedback assignment, which revolved around conics (parabolas and ellipses). We had to freshen up on completing the square, but otherwise, he simply followed the guidelines by looking at the given formulas and equations."
"Another good session. We went over the algebra and graphing of conic sections: parabolas, hyperbolas, circles and ellipses. A good review of topics previously covered. The student understands and appears to be cutting down on errors."
"The student has a quiz on triangles tomorrow, so we worked on understanding the different formulas and square roots. He seems to understand the Pythagorean Theorem really well after we went through a couple, so that is excellent! We also worked on finding the square roots of different numbers, as well as the cubic roots. When we were confident on that, we worked on some review of changing formulas into the slope-intercept form. He was having a hard time grasping that, but we did many problems, and he definitely improved."
"We went over her calculus packet; she seems to be getting problems once I explain them to her but there are some gaps of knowledge in her calculus. We can work on that tomorrow when we finish the packet, and in future sessions."
"The student and I covered asymptotes, polynomials, graphs. The student has always been positive towards the materials being reviewed. We are scheduled to meet again on Sunday."
"Reviewed all aspects of sine and cosine functional graphing indicating the amplitude, period, and vertical shift of the function. In addition, I introduced future concepts and function formula that incorporates more aspects of graph transformation."
