Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We reviewed more reading comprehension practice and did more geometry practice problems with lines, angles, triangles, quadrilaterals, and circles."
"The tutorial was spent simulating four sections (writing, one math, one reading, and one verbal) of a real assessment exam. I did not inform the student of this practice test beforehand because I wanted to see how she would naturally apply the skills we have been developing. I am going to review the test results and give her a scaled score. In addition, the results and our subsequent analysis of why she answered problems wrong or right will be used to structure the rest of our work together. We will discuss some endurance exercises that she can use on test day to stay engaged through the end of the exam. This is important, as this simulated test did not include two other sections that will be on the exam (quantitative and an experimental section that repeats one of the subjects)."
"We covered the vocabulary and analogy portions of the SSAT. We went over the vocab words in a sample section. The student showed significant improvement on the synonym problems. She said she plans to look up new words she encounters while reading."
