"Today we covered a homework assignment in the workbook called "verbs with irregular yo forms." We also made flashcards for conjugation of irregular yo form verbs. We studied stem-changing verbs and irregular yo form verbs in the present tense for a quiz on Thursday."
"We continued practicing using direct and indirect pronouns, going over some of the exercises from our book. The student found it challenging to translate these sentences into Spanish using the correct verb agreement, but she figured out on her own one particularly tricky translation. Nicely done! She's going to practice more translating on her own this week, using some of the idiomatic phrases on page 268. She wrote another summary of what she had read in the second chapter of "Hasta No Verte . . ," and we discussed the content of the chapter. We also looked at a short reading about Frida Kahlo and went over some new vocabulary. She had some questions about when to use "ser" and "estar." We looked at some examples and rules, and she will do some exercises in the grammar book for next week."
"Today we started with the usual reviews before moving on to subject pronouns. I first explained what they are in English and how they are used before introducing their Spanish equivalents. She seemed to be able to understand these grammatical concepts without much difficulty after we worked on a few examples. There seemed to be some question on her part at first regarding which subject pronoun to use when you are talking about someone and which one to use when talking to someone. I had a worksheet that practiced with this and by the end of the session, she didn't seem to have any trouble with it. We will continue practicing with subject pronouns as I introduce verb conjugation in the present tense later this week."
