Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We reviewed some key terms from the Columbian Exchange through Reconstruction. We also discussed the influence of robber barons on the U.S. economy (Vanderbilt and Rockefeller). During the second half of our session we used a program to analyze the Populist movement and the presidencies of James Madison and Thomas Jefferson. We also discussed major events in the 20th century, including World War II and its causes. The student has her semester exam tomorrow."
"Today the student and I began to review for his upcoming test on unit 9 and for the final the week after. I quizzed him on the vocabulary and then content, having him link vocabulary words with concepts. He was very prepared and I was impressed with his level of retention. After this, I prepped him for the concepts he'd be tested on that the class hadn't yet covered so it wouldn't be fresh news in class, rather another go-over. After this we discussed next week's review session for the final."
"Today we reviewed chapters 18-19 in anticipation of the student's upcoming exam. She clearly has a better understanding of this material than she did on our initial run-through, which shows great retention of the material. I am confident that she will do great on her exam."
