"The student and I worked on proofs that make use of the properties of congruent triangles. She did well with this topic. We talked about how to use CPCTC to show segments and angles are congruent in a figure with congruent triangles. Many of the proofs started with some givens about a few angles and sides in a figure, and then relied on the student to make the connection of labeling two triangles as congruent to use CPCTC. We talked about working on proofs from both ends and meeting in the middle. We can often figure out a few things from the givens, and a few things that would imply the result of the proof."

"We went over the student's exam prep. I believe she is ready for the exam, because not only did she finally have a better understanding on the concepts, but she also built up a set of strategies for searching for solutions. More precisely, besides the concepts themselves, the critical parts are identifying the two triangles she will need to focus on. Additionally, the corresponding angle and side is the best hint for solutions. And finally, keeping the goal in mind will guide her towards the solution."
"During yesterday's session, the student and I worked through her homework for sections 8.1 and 8.2. We discussed the basic concepts of these sections, including solving proportions and comparing similar geometric shapes using proportions. She has a great understanding of these two sections. We also briefly discussed her project about 3D coordinate geometry which she will be presenting next week in class. During the last few minutes of the session, we discussed the process of applying to colleges and choosing a major. The student told me that she will be starting college counseling next year, and I offered to answer any questions she might have in the future."
"The student and I spent the first half of the tutoring session working on a selection of two column proofs, involving congruence of triangles, parallel lines and their properties. The second part of the session was devoted to working on homework questions relating to the Pythagorean theorem and the Triangle inequality theorem."

He understands the equation for the distance between 2 points but sometimes doesn't understand when to use the equation. The assignment we worked on today was given as homework in the past, and so it was more a recap for the student."
"I worked with the student on an introduction to the trigonometric ratios and how to solve problems with trigonometric ratios. He didn't have any homework but we based our lesson off of his teacher's notes. The session went very smoothly and he seemed to enjoy learning the information that I presented to him."
"We worked on the student's homework and reviewed the material that is going to be on her upcoming test. A majority if the material is content that she learned in previous math courses and is now expanding on."
"The student and her class have moved on to circles and the measurements of arcs. In this session we went over her homework and after we completed it we went through the book problems for extra practice. She was picking up the more complicated proofs with far more confidence that when we first began which is really exciting to see. She told me on her trig exam she scored at 91%! I'm really proud of all of her hard work."
"The student and I continued with quadrilaterals and their properties. We reviewed angles, parallelograms, and trapezoids. I noticed some fundamental mistakes in algebra, so I took some time to give her algebra equations and clarify her methods with equations. She is grasping the concepts. I have created online flashcards for her to memorize formulas."
