Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We spent most of the session working through complicated math problems, and then worked on grammar rules."
"We first went over an essay that I asked him to write. He already displayed the basic skills necessary to write a good essay for the SAT - he had a clear thesis, answered the question, and provided examples or quotes. He had no significant grammar or spelling issues either. His essay was a bit short, which would probably prevent him from getting the highest score, but it's something that I think he can work on. I gave him tips on how to strategize for the essay, and told him that one more body paragraph would help him. We then did math questions that are on the harder side of the SAT. He's showing improvement in tackling tricky problems in algebra, but he still needs help in some problems as far as getting started. Once he's pointed in the right direction, he can usually figure it out. Still, the improvement is apparent and his confidence is growing in the math section."
"We covered sentence structure, parts of speech, independent and dependent clauses, and other necessities for the SAT Writing. We also did practice problems from the SAT booklet."
