Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"This week, the student and I worked some more on her introduction to the field of geometry. I'm impressed by her ability to visualize various shapes in 3D, and I'm confident she'll ace her geometry at the end of the marking period."
"Student is trying to switch the school, where she has to take an entrance test for Algebra 1- 2 and Geometry. We brushed up on the following geometric concepts, including practice problems and practice tests for each concept: sets, equivalence relations and qualities of a good definition, basic geometrical concepts, types and angles of triangles, medians, centroids, altitudes, orthocenter, incenter, circumcenter, and their properties."
"The student scored a 92 on her previous test. We reviewed her test and discussed the test-taking strategies that worked well and what she could improve on for next time. We also reviewed for her upcoming quiz and discussed strategies for showing work and staying organized when solving equations and inequalities."
"We covered physics topics today: work, potential and kinetic energy. The student was mainly struggling with determining which formulas to use, but as we practiced on the problems together, she got better with determining which to use. She will be sending me the teacher's course plan so I can come prepared with extra practice problems."
"We reviewed for the multiple choice section of the student's midterm that is on Wednesday. He is allowed a page of information. I began by taking the first 15 minutes going through the first 6 chapters and writing his formulas/key concepts he needed for each chapter. We then started working through the review packet the teacher gave him for the test."
"The student and I met to review more trigonometry problems to solidify her understanding of the material. After a couple of example problems, she was able to arrive at the solution of any problem thrown at her. She was very happy to finally understand the concepts, as she mentioned she was lost before our session."
