Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We worked on multiplication and division of real numbers, as well as addition/subtraction of like-terms. Also covered a few math chapters and did a review of social studies vocab."
"We went over the student's test and makeup test to make sure we corrected what she got wrong. Then we went through practice problems (dealing with order of operations and manipulating variables)."
"We had a good first session. Student is very communicative and is comfortable asking questions. We reviewed powers (e.g., 2^4) and chapter four in her book."
"We covered one half of Algebra 1 in preparation for the student's test. This included simplifying expressions and solving equations containing radicals. Also, we covered solving equations containing rational expressions and finding disallowed values, etc. The student had a good attitude and was particularly glad to discover the conversion factor method. She will finish homework problems for additional practice."
"I was very impressed by this session with this student. He really understood his material for his class quickly and was able to figure out the answers without much help. He still needs to improve on elementary math skills such as basic multiplication and division because there were many times he had to refer to the multiplication table in the back of his book or use a calculator. We also went over concepts from last session that I felt were very difficult for him. This time, he was able to understand the material much better and I could tell there was major improvement."
"We had a good session today. We worked on a few algebra word problems. They consisted of identifying the known information and what would be our unknown variable. We then worked out each problem. We also worked on some studying skills and studied for his class."
