Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today the student and I covered his final Latin lesson. We went over chapter verbs and terms. Overall it was a good lesson and he seemed to understand the concepts involved."
"We focused on chapter 28 vocabulary, translating, and verb tenses and other forms. The student needs to keep reviewing vocabulary."
"In our session, the student and I reviewed Latin constructions of place and time and completed a prose composition exercise. I explained the rules for expressing place where, place to which, and place from which for names of cities, towns, and small islands as well as the Latin words, domus, humus, and rus. Then I briefly quizzed him over these rules before we began our prose composition exercise. For each of the six English sentences we translated into Latin, I asked him to identify the sentence’s subject(s) and verb(s) first. Then I asked him to identify the person, number, and tense of the verb(s) as this information determines what ending(s) the verb(s) will have in Latin. I also asked Noah to apply the rules for place where, place to which, and place from which as these rules determine what case to use for place nouns in the sentence. After we completed the prose composition exercise, I reviewed place and time constructions once again and quizzed Noah over them. Noah’s ability to accurately parse verbs and nouns was much improved in this session."
