Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I covered a review for an upcoming math test. The review was over rational functions. He struggled most with adding and subtracting rational functions in the forms of fractions. However, as we continued to do more similar problems, he was able to get the hang of it. There was still a fair amount of time before his test date so could do more practice to solidify his execution of the types of problems we were working on."
"We reviewed a previously graded quiz, concentrating on the incorrect problems. We then concentrated on previously taught concepts via worksheets. He did well and is doing much better with showing his work and explaining his answers."
"We continued working on SAT test prep, completing 28/99 questions from the second set of sample questions. We practiced multiplying fractions and visualizing fractions using models, and with finding area versus finding perimeter."
"We covered inverse functions, factoring by grouping, piecewise functions, and finding a function's domain and range. The student had an exam the upcoming week, and we were building his understanding of the material. We covered every topic in the study guide. He demonstrated a notably better grasp of the material and was more confident in his abilities."
"We studied for the student's exam this Thursday, primarily on the vector component. We discussed cross products, dot products, equations of lines, and matrices."
"We did several practice problems throughout the session on different topics. We talked about probability, geometry, algebra and how to review for the student's test. We talked about quicker solution strategies and which answers sounded correct. She will try to rest well before her test."
