Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Good first session - the student and I went through her homework and then worked on improving her proof skills."
"The student and did his project as well as worked on some slope-focused problems. We mainly completed his geometry project, worth a large portion of his grade for this six weeks."
"The student and I reviewed the HL theorem (hypotenuse-leg) and used it to prove congruent triangles. In addition, we used the Pythagorean theorem. We also reviewed ASA, SAS, SSS, and AAS and overlapping triangles."
"We went over 36-60-90 and 45-45-90 right triangles. Overall, it was pretty straightforward. The material was not that difficult, and it was a simple session. The student's exam is next week, so we're doing another session on Monday that should cover most of the material. Overall, it seems like this test will be a straightforward and simple one."
"We covered trigonometry today! Key points: 1) SOHCAHTOA will help you remember the trigonometric ratios. 2) Make sure to label your sides (adjacent, opposite, hypotenuse). Once the student were able to do that, she started getting every problem right. 3) Set up your trig ratios and solve algebraically like we did on the practice problems. Be careful for when x is in the denominator."
"We prepared for the student's geometry final by going through a review packet that was provided by his teacher. He was able to do most of the review packet fairly easily and only needed my help with a few problems."
