"I personally improved my score 210 points from 1360 to 1570 (out of 1600) on the SAT.
I am also a certified nutritionist and natural vision teacher. I teach people how to see clearly without glasses in a manner similar to the Bates method. I have written several books on the topics.

"I tutored my fellow students in Mandarin Chinese, French, and chemistry. After I graduated, I went to China and taught English both at a school and privately for three years. Right now I'm teaching English as a Second Language at a language school here in San Diego. I like private tutoring a lot more than teaching large classes because it's much more personalized and I can help the student learn exactly what they need."

"
I always try to find ways to make the subject matter easy to relate to. I don't believe there is such a thing as a difficult subject, I just believe that each student has strengths and weaknesses, and that it is best to focus on the strengths and use them to overcome the weaknesses. For example, some students struggle with word problems in math, but they enjoy drawing pictures. I like to teach students how to draw pictures to solve word problems."

"It was the one field of study I was ready to be done with for the rest of my life but the spring quarter of my freshman year, I decided to invest time and effort into genuinely studying the material by meeting with my professor every week. I soon found out math was not as bad as I thought it would be; in fact, it became a newfound passion and led me to major and excel in it. As a student who struggled to understand the concepts behind the cryptic formulas and symbols, I know first-hand what it feels like to be a struggling student. I also know what it takes to overcome that feeling and ever since, I have been teaching many of my peers in the classes I excelled ...

"I started out in school as a Biology major, then switched to Chemistry with a Spanish minor. When I finished with the classes for the Spanish minor and was taking solely Chemistry classes, I realized how much Spanish had become a part of me and how I deeply missed it, so I switched my degree, yet again, to Spanish. I have always had a passion helping students do better in school. I ultimately want to be a high school teacher.."

" And although I have years of tutoring experience, I have also held down jobs as a movie theater projectionist, radio disc jockey, and short-order cook. After applying to Law Schools (and receiving full scholarships to a few of them thanks to my 99th percentile LSAT score), I instead decided to follow my passion for education. I now attend California State University, San Marcos working toward obtaining my high school teaching credential. As a tutor, I have experience with young children, teenagers and adults. My teaching philosophy involves getting to know a student's personality and aspirations. Instead of lecturing, I prefer to ...
