Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student wanted to go through more physics homework. The homework I helped him on covered total resistant of a circuit, calculating resistivity, and finding the current density. The student found the session very useful."
"We worked on both Algebra and Physics assignments. The topics covered in Algebra is graphing square root functions, which he grasped very quickly. The problems in the physics assignments were on magnetics and magnetic forces on charges and currents."
"The student actually is quite adept at figuring out the problems she has been assigned. She has read the chapter material on electrostatics. I was pretty floored that she could reason out that capacitor plates suddenly moving apart would actually force the charge back on to the battery, but she did! We went over a complex problem concerning resistors in circuit and parallel and figured out the current and voltage drop in each case."
"We spent today's session preparing for the student's physics test. The test covered center of mass, momentum, collisions, and conservation laws. I wrote up a variety of problems for her to test her knowledge on this content, and she was able to tackle almost all aspects of the problems. We spent the entire session working practice problems for the test."
"The student and I covered basic Kinematic equations and one dimensional movement. He caught on quickly and solved problems independently, soon after we started working. He'll be working on the test 1 review packet we looked at before we meet again on Friday."
"Today we covered topics in conceptual physics, including velocity vs. speed, position/ velocity/ acceleration graph interpretation, velocity as a function of time and distance, and significant figures and scientific notation."
