"We covered the process paper for the student's theater class today. She then worked on creating the outline. I left her with the outline and she will write the paper."
"The first hour was spent with Student A. We spent about 30 minutes going over his vocabulary in the same way his test would go: I used the word in a sentence, and he deconstructed the prefixes and suffixes, wrote what they meant, and the total definition of the word. We spent the last 30 minutes on a creative writing exercise, as per request by his mother. I asked him to think about a favorite memory, and we discussed how best to go about imaginatively describing it. We also talked about the pros and cons of tenses and specific points-of-view. I spent the remaining hour and a half with Student B. We began by thoroughly going over her science homework: a vocabulary worksheet on waves. After about 45 minutes, we too did the same writing exercise as I worked on with Student A. We ended the session with about ten minutes of going over organization and study skills, which I encouraged her to try out."
"We worked on revising the student's final three college applications. As usual, her ideas are good, but her editing skills need work. My advice was to wait before doing her final edit so that she can truly put in her best effort."
