Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We started class by practicing pronunciation of ge, gi and j by reading some words out loud. We did some more AR conjugation practice and also learned new vocabulary: description words and the human body. For homework: make sentences using different pronouns with verbs regresar, trabajar, entrar, necesitar, comprar, tomar, llevar, caminar, preparar and esperar. Also work on pages xxiv, xxv and xxvi. There is going to be a small quiz on ar conjugation on Tuesday and also the student is going to try to use vocabulary at work to get more practice."
"In this session we worked an assignment for the student, in which she had to come up with sentences for her vocabulary words. I helped her come up with complete sentences for all seven vocabulary words. She was very creative with her Spanish and came up with really good sentences."
"We began with the student reading from a daily journal that she wrote while on a recent trip. We used the writing as a springboard for further conversation regarding the trip. We then went over exercises that she completed dealing with the use of pronouns with certain verbs that use "se." For homework, she will create original sentences using the verbs listed on page 268 of our book. She also wanted to continue through the chapter on adjectives. We went through a few exercises together, and she'll work on more this week at home. She wrote a summary of the pages in Chapter 2 of our novel. We discussed the summary, and I had her rephrase everything into the past tense for practice. She did a very good job with that. We wrapped up our time with a conversation about her daughter's upcoming wedding. She is very self-directed and a pleasure to work with."
