Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student informed me that he was introduced to the purpose clause recently in class. The session was spent reviewing purpose clauses as we worked on the homework that he was given. In general, he was fairly good at figuring out how to transform indicative forms of verbs into the corresponding subjunctive forms, and seems to grasp the concept of the purpose clause fairly well. He also understands the concepts of primary and secondary sequence very well as far as purpose clauses are concerned. His vocabulary for some of the sentences that we worked on was shaky, and I suggested he review the forms of the pronouns (is ea id, qui quae quod, and hic haec hoc) for the future. Overall, I think that these sessions are proving helpful for him as a supplement to the new material he is learning, and allow him to review vocabulary along the way."
"We covered three sections of "Caesar" and the remainder of Laocoon's passage in "The Aeneid". There was a definite improvement on grammar. We set up the next three sections of "Caesar" and book 6 of "The Aeneid" for next session."
"Reviewed future tense forms for the 3rd and 4th conjugation verbs, in addition to continuing with translation basics and vocabulary. He should continue working on the assignment I gave him yesterday and focus on mastering vocabulary and verb forms."
