Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The girls had a test coming up so as a review, their teacher assigned them an activity. It was putting together formulas, graphs and the answer to match the question. I had them each separately write the question, figure out the solution and then match the pieces. I believe they are now starting to enjoy math."
"We went over graphing according to functions, and how functions work in general. Student did very well, although I would still encourage him to work on the basics, specifically subtracting and adding negative numbers. But overall, a very good session today!"
"I spent the entire session working with the student on math. He and I went over perimeter and area of rectangles and squares. We worked on note taking, as well as solving problems."
"Today we finished preparing for the student's review exam coming up on Wednesday. We covered topics such as roots, fractional exponents, various methods of factoring polynomials, absolute values, and compound inequalities."
"We reviewed the student's homework from last week, including solving for x in one- and two-step equations; re-read essay and commented on revision; and I taught a lesson on identifying meaning behind unknowns and the meaning of an answer to a contextual problem."
"This student is awesome! He's a quick learner. The only concern is the speed of his math class. The students are learning so much so fast that it's easy to get left behind. I will continue to focus on making sure he is truly understanding all the topics covered in class."
