Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Since the student had an exam the next day, we covered the entirety of Chapter 8 in his biology textbook: Photosynthesis. Prior to the session, I reviewed some of his older exams and his mother updated me on how he had been doing. It seems he was performing very badly, but has recently improved his grades to a B/C. While he states he has issues with vocabulary and labeling of diagrams, a quick review was able to help him with this chapter's terminology. The greatest problem that he was facing (and also the most difficult portion of this chapter), were the two parts of the photosynthesis reaction (light dependent vs light independent) and how they interacted with each other. I helped him construct a simplified diagram and walked him through the entire process, as well as explained to him the concepts that were most fundamental to understanding the chapter: input vs output of the reactions. Afterwards, we did the practice questions at the back of the book and he answered most of them without difficulty. I feel that, if he remembers most of what we went over in the session, he should be able to face his exam without much difficulty."
"We covered photosynthesis/respiration. She passed her quarterly for biology which I was happy to hear about."
"The student completed a biology worksheet over cancer bio, then prepared for her algebra quiz tomorrow."
