Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"I worked with the student on his coordinate grid project. We also reviewed adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing fractions."
"We did a problem set covering fractional expressions. Other topics reviewed included rhombii, arcs and percentage problems."
"Today we completed his homework on solving simple equations. We also talked about the importance of checking our work as we go and looking out for simple/careless errors."
"The student and I reviewed a range of concepts including simplifying polynomials, finding the equations of parallel lines, solving multi-step equations, and finding the slope of lines given two points."
"The student seemed new to graphically representing systems of equations with inequalities, including understanding the concept behind shading regions above or below the lines, and what the point of intersection means between two equations in the context of a word problem. By the time we finished her packet and practiced verbalizing these ideas, she seems more comfortable with the subject, and I look forward to progressing on this by the next session."
"The student and I reviewed his homework covering systems of equations. The main process used was substitution, and after a few errors he seemed to get the process down. After he finished his homework, I gave him a few extra sample problems to check for understanding. With the few minutes we had left, I gave him a brief introduction to solving by elimination. He appeared to get the basic idea behind the process."
