Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We reviewed items on the previous year's released state assessment exam. The student was able to analyze the errors she made on the exam. Most of the mistakes were from missing a step in a problem. She continues to improve her problem-solving skills. We will continue to review items to prepare for the exam. She was curious during the session. It was a productive session."
"The student and I spent a little over an hour practicing the SSAT analogies. He is doing much better and is making more connections than he was previously. We then worked on probability and slope for the math section. Probability is his most challenging section, so next week we will focus mainly on probability. He seems to be having more fun with the material and is dedicated to improving (especially on vocabulary)."
"We went over some tougher math questions. We did language arts questions, focusing on grammar. We also worked on science and some social studies. The student needed help a little with the tougher math problems and with concepts she says she hasn't worked on yet. I'll need to know what units she has done in social studies. She has a good attitude towards the work."
"Today, the student and I worked on overall review for her exam. She did well. If anything, she can work on using the calculator effectively to do harder problems such as the cumulative binomial distribution. I left her to make a bar graph depicting data effectively."
"In today's session we worked on the Gram Schmidt process and least squares. In general, the student gets the theory very well. My only comment is that she needs to be very vigilant on the test with regards to the arithmetic. It is extremely easy to miss a negative sign or use the wrong vector. Just make sure to check your work on the test!"
"Today, the student worked her math packet that she needed to finish and turn in. She also worked on her worksheet of congruent figures. Her packet consisted of geometry and sequence problems."
