Tutoring review by Lily in Gladstone, MO
The student continues to require support in the area of mathematical reasoning. The student is a visual leaner and works well with pictures and graphs. With approval from her mother, the student requested that I stay late in order for her to complete all her math homework.

Tutoring review by Heather in Gladstone, MO
We worked through solving some exponential equations. The student was having difficulty at first, but by the end of the session was successfully able to answer most practice problems with little help from me. I suggest he work through more examples of exponential equation solving and rearranging equations to find unknowns. Extra practice online may be beneficial. For physics, we worked through a worksheet on refraction and calculating index of refraction for different materials. He did great on these problems and understood the concepts well.

Tutoring review by William in Gladstone, MO
The student and I continued to review and cement the concepts we have been covering the past three weeks. We did several problems together looking at the sin, cos and tan of radian angles. We are beginning to explore the idea that there are multiple solutions for the inverse sine and cosine functions because the number of rotations possible on a circle is infinite. These are important concepts for solving trig equations, so we focused much of our time on them. Furthermore, we continued reviewing basic algebraic functions such as division, subtraction and multiplication to solve for an unknown. I will devise more strategies for him to use to improve his algebraic solving abilities. Overall, I have notice an increase in his confidence and willingness to solve problems to the end independently and check them with his own methods.

Tutoring review by Rebecca in Gladstone, MO
I helped the student work on questions from his review packet for final exam. He said he needed most help working on completing the square problems so we spent the second hour working on related questions from other sources. I also recommended some YouTube videos that explained inequality graphs for extra review.

Tutoring review by Jessica in Gladstone, MO
Today we went over the questions the student missed on the SAT practice test, specifically in Section 2, a mathematics portion. This included problems like factoring, calculating percentages, f(x), fractions, and some geometry. We briefly went over vocabulary for the last 20 minutes of the session. Despite having read the SAT novel and making good progress, he had a very hard time defining the words I asked him about. He is going to send me more practice test answers before our next session, and will also practice a writing exercise I suggested to help him with the vocabulary.
