"The student and I worked on Taylor Series questions. He is comfortable with some of them but needs more practice with recognizing how to apply certain new principles and theorems. His class will continue with Taylor Series and estimation of errors next."
"We went through the student's webwork and questions. The material was similar to the material covered before. The material was primarily concerned with numerical integration techniques for trigonometric/inverse trigonometric functions. The work relied on several trigonometric identities and substitutions."
"We went over quadratic equations-- factoring them and then finding solutions both through the zero product method and using the quadratic equation. We then spent most of the time practicing graphing quadratic equations/parabolas by finding the roots, vertex, and y intercept of each equation."
"We completed an algebra review for the student's class. We focused on methods of factoring including completing the square and the quadratic formula. The student was able to complete most of the review without assistance."
"We went over proving trig identities and finding exact values. For angles that are unfamiliar (i.e. 75 and 15 degrees), we can express them as a sum or difference of angles that we do know. He just learned about expanding sums/ differences within trig functions today, so he doesn't completely understand it yet, but was able to answer the intermediate questions within a long problem."
"Today the student and I worked on coterminal angles, arc length, and converting from radians to degrees and vice versa. French review: -ir verbs conjugation. The biggest problem was coterminal angles, but I think we resolved it. The student had a great attitude as always."
